I'm a big lover of visual novels -- kinetic or not. In a way, for me, they are a special kind of novel, especially those with branching plotlines, wherein the reader have the right to choose what kinda ending he or she wants. And, for me, I think that's mighty interesting.
The developers of these kinds of novels are no joke either. Having to think of one plotline and a good ending for it is hard enough -- how much more two or three? Plus, they don't just sweat on the plot, they have to manage the visuals, the music and coding as well. For short, that's a loot of work right there.
That's why I really appreciate those people behind these kinds of games. I admire their tenacity and talent! And I hope a lot of people share the same view to them and would appreciate them more.
